FDA increases its use of warning letters.(Washington Insider)(Pharmaceutical industry)(Brief Article)

THE FDA HAS ISSUED more advertising- and promotion-related warning letters over the past six months than it did during all of last year, according to Tom Abrams, director of the Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising and Communications (DDMAC).

During his annual enforcement update at the Drug Information Association's annual meeting, Abrams revealed that since December, the agency has issued six warning letters to drug marketers. That's one more than all of last year, according to panel moderator and APCO regulatory services president Wayne Pines.
