FRANKFURT, Germany-At the end of the day, major Asian mills lining up for a bigger slice of the U.S. home textiles market are grappling with the same basic issues as American mills and suppliers: price and intense competition.
The good news is that more U.S. suppliers are coming to them and their export business is getting a boost from the demise of quota controls on sheets and towels. The bad news is there are several of them competing for the same pie and Americans are demanding lower prices.
