U.K.-based Hamworthy plc recently signed a letter of intent to supply eight LNG reliquefaction systems for the first LNG carriers to use slow-speed diesel propulsion engines.
The eight LNG ships are on order at three shipyards in South Korea: Hyundai Heavy Industries Co Limited (HHI), Samsung Heavy Industries Limited (SHI), and Daewoo Ship-building & Marine Engineering Co (DSME). The four ships at DSME will have a capacity of 210,000 [m.sup.3] each and the other four ships at HHI and Samsung will be 215,000 [m.sup.3].
