MANILA, Feb 3 Asia Pulse - Philippine Senator Manny Villar, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, today said that the government can try to legalize the stay of the estimated 178,000 illegally-staying Filipinos in Malaysia who are threatened to be repatriated to the Philippines.
"Perhaps, we can save the Filipinos, who are considered undocumented aliens and overstaying workers, from being deported from Malaysia by assisting them in putting their working documents in order. These people are not only facing impending deportation, but unemployment as well,"Villar said.
