Liverpool began the year with a salty new logo on its documents.

It is replacing the busy sketch that featured the outline of the village limits, the bridge at the foot of Sycamore Street over the Oswego Canal, a man driving a wagon full of baskets and a salt boiler on the banks of the canal.

The new logo is a simple brown barrel with half the word "salt" written on either side and "Village of Liverpool, Onondaga Co. NY" surrounding it - all inside an oval.

This is the first replacement of the village logo since the old one was designed in 1980 for Liverpool's sesquicentennial ...
