Q: Do houses really need ventilation systems -- can't they just rely on natural ventilation to remove air contaminants and provide fresh air?
A: Historically that approach may have been acceptable, but there are several major problems with just relying on natural air leakage (infiltration and exfiltration) through leaky building components to accomplish this function.
