JACKSON -- The PEER Committee has reviewed the Mississippi State Tax Commission's (MSTC's) Office of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) in response to citizens' complaints. PEER sought to determine whether ABC has the systems in place to direct and control the wholesale distribution of wine and spirits and to enforce Mississippi's alcoholic beverage control laws, and also whether privatizing all of part of the state's alcoholic beverage control was feasible.
PEER reviewed ABC's procedures for distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages and found order processing, shipping and delivery and pricing procedures to be basically sound. And PEER found ABC's accounts ...
