Feb. 4--CLARENDON -- If you see Jewel Houston wandering around the Clarendon College library with a dazed, happy look on her face, don't be alarmed.
She's just basking in her new surroundings.
Houston is the librarian of Clarendon's brand-new Vera Dial Dickey Library, a $1.5 million facility that opened for students this semester.
Community members, dignitaries, school officials and friends gathered in the 10,000-square-foot facility Thursday morning to officially dedicate the building.
"It is wonderful. It is really fantastic," Houston said. "It's the culmination of a dream."
