The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is developing best practice guidelines for mobile marketing, set for publication in three months' time, after an industry consultation process.

The move is the first development from the Mobile Marketing Strategy Group, formed in November.

These guidelines will go beyond the mandatory requirements already in the DMA code of practice.

The group is running its second half-day event on mobile marketing on 12 April and is planning a series of breakfast seminars on subjects including a debrief from the 3GSM Congress in Cannes next month.
