Vendors move to smarter uninterruptible power supplies
From EFI Electronics (Salt Lake City, UT), the LanGarde 400 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) incorporates software enhancements aimed at network applications. Like some other recent UPSs, the LanGarde demonstrates a higher degree of intelligence than had previously been common in the UPS arena.
The EFI unit kicks off a product series that features battery-condition monitoring and advanced surge suppression. A removeable front panel lets the UPS reside in a convenient location while display and control functions are still readily accessible to users.
