JACKSONVILLE - When the Eagles declared Terrell Owens active an hour and a half before kickoff, the 7-point betting line should have gone up by a couple of points. For the outnumbered Patriots fans in the stands at Alltel Stadium last night it was the best news they'd heard all day.
Owens playing in the Super Bowl wasn't Curt Schilling limping out to the mound. It was more like Bill Buckner hobbling out to the infield.
Issuing a uniform to Owens for Super Bowl XXXIX was not unlike allowing Buckner to stay on the field for the final out of the 1986 World Series, and last night Andy Reid caved in to T.O.'s ego for the same ...
