Feb. 7--The High Point tourism industry will get a much needed boost this December during what is typically slow month for the winter events.
The International Textile Market Association will begin holding its winter portion of the biannual wholesale home fabric show Showtime in December instead of the usual January date. The change starts this year, so the event will be held three times in 2005 instead of twice, according to marketing association Director Catherine Morsell.
The new date means the total economic impact from Showtime for the city this year will be about $9.6 million. Each Showtime event brings about $3.2 ...
