OYSTER BAY, N.Y. -- General Motors' plan to make OnStar standard on all its passenger cars by 2007 will nearly triple its yearly output of telematics-enabled vehicles. North America's current 3+ million telematics subscribers represent over three quarters of the world's total subscribers, while the region accounts for a just third of the world's vehicle sales. Findings from market intelligence firm ABI Research helps shed some light over this discrepancy.
