Now that the Attucks Theatre, dating from 1919, has been given a new lease on life, I'd like to celebrate Black History Month, which began on Tuesday, by devoting today's column to four other architecturally important structures near the theater that have played important roles in Norfolk's cultural and spiritual chronicles since they became familiar landmarks on the inner-metropolitan skyline.
