MY first Scotland get-together as part of the coaching staff was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
I really expected being on the other side of the fence to be quite weird but, to be honest, there was nothing strange about three fantastic days in Manchester.
The gathering was really beneficial for all concerned and everyone from the manager to the coaches, players and backroom staff agreed it was far more useful than playing a friendly.
