Improved communications and a squad car bearing their names are among the new benefits Lake Barrington and North Barrington expect from their renewed contract for police service from the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
Lake Barrington officials signed a three-year contract Tuesday night, and their North Barrington counterparts expect to do the same later this month.
The two villages have been sharing a contract for police service from Lake County for nearly two decades, though Lake Barrington has researched other options the past two times the contract has come up for renewal.
