USC's recruiting class in women's soccer was named the nation's best by StudentSportsSoccer.com after defender Meagan Holmes, who had given a verbal commitment to Santa Clara, signed with the Trojans.
Holmes, from Timonium, Md., was the starting right back for the U.S. under-19 team that finished third at the FIFA U-19 World Championship in November. The Web site rates her the No. 2 defender and No. 6 recruit in the country.
USC also nabbed StudentSportsSoccer.com's No. 2 recruit, U-19 striker Amy Rodriguez (Santa Margarita High of Rancho Santa Margarita), and the No. 21 recruit, Canyon of Canyon Country ...
