Not since a 250R-mounted Barry Hawk has someone dominated the Grand National Cross Country Pro class with such vigor and consistency. Hawk won seven straight Pro-class crowns before abandoning his ride for a two-wheeled woods racer after the 1999 season. For the last five GNCC seasons, Bill Ballance has been the Pro-class champion. In fact, if it weren't for Hawk, Ballance, who spent his early Pro-class career chasing the former champ, might already have established his own record for consecutive titles.
