A POPULAR herbal remedy known as the 'sunshine' plant works better against depression than one of the leading drugs available only on prescription.
St John's wort is more effective against moderate and severe depression than the controversial antidepressant Seroxat, a study has found.
The herb is known to help those suffering from mild depression but this is the first time that high-quality research has shown it also works in more serious cases.
