They've outlived dinosaurs, survived Ice Age temperatures, and enjoy an enviable position near the top of the food chain. But today in Chiapas, Mexico's southernmost state, a small, isolated population of the American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) fights a new threat: invasion of its limited territory by Morelet crocodiles (Crocodylus moreletii).
