Feb. 13--CANTON -- The widow of a Norwood man who died when the aerial lift he was operating toppled over at an Ogdensburg industrial plant has filed suit against the lift's maker and the business that owned and leased it.
Filed in state Supreme Court here, the lawsuit was brought by Kathleen Smith, 26 Mechanic St., Norwood, on behalf of her late husband, Gerald L. Smith. It is against Collins Equipment Corp., 7610 Route 68, Ogdensburg, and JLG Industries, McConnellsburg, Pa.
Mr. Smith died June 4, 2003, of injuries he suffered when the JLG 80HX boom lift he was using tipped over as he was inspecting the outside of elevators at the Hoosier Magnetics ...
