Article: Sakata ad under ASB review.(Advertising Standards Bureau, Sakata Rice Snacks Australia Proprietary Ltd.)(Brief Article)

Feb 16, 2005 (Ad News - ABIX via COMTEX)

Australia's Advertising Standards Bureau (ASB) is to review rice cracker brand Sakata's television commercial (TVC). The TVC, developed by Clemenger BBDO, features a Japanese exchange student wielding a samurai sword. According to the ASB, the TVC has received fewer than ten complaints, mostly about the way the samurai sword was displayed. Sakata has withdrawn the TVC from air. Clemenger has now passed the A$2m Sakata account to Creative Outlet, citing a potential brand conflict with its San Remo account.
