Stewart Iron Works, one of Covington's signature manufacturers since 1886, has been sold to a group of Northern Kentucky investors.
The new owners hope to build on a well-established product that can be found on the former federal prison at Alcatraz, the lieutenant governor's mansion in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, the French Quarter of New Orleans, and hundreds of gates and fences that separate private property from public sidewalks in Northern Kentucky's old river cities.
