Feb. 16--Kids Central Inc. is on the verge of collapse. That ought to make some people happy, considering that the agency is doing a poor job of its mission to investigate child abuse and handle foster care.
A recent state report cited Kids Central for serious performance deficiencies, including leaving adoptable kids lingering in state care too long. It said the number who were reabused while under the agency's care was the highest in the state for the first quarter of the fiscal year. The agency said -- oops! -- that was just a data-entry error.
Clearly, however, a lot more than bad typing is wrong at Kids Central. ...
