Star Cement, a subsidiary of the local ETA-Ascon, has invited international contractors to bid by the end of March for the lump-sum turnkey contract to install a new clinker line at its existing plant in Abu Dhabi. The expansion project is one of several planned in the UAE as local cement producers respond to high cement demand across the federation.
Under the expansion programme, Star Cement plans to install a 5,000-tonne-a-day (t/d) clinker line and new crushing facilities.
