"Keep thy shop, and thy shop will keep thee," Benjamin Franklin wrote in "Poor Richard's Almanac." At the 2005 Printing Week Dinner, it was abundantly clear how this concern has been paramount for the industry as of late. More than 300 printing professionals attended the Jan. 18 event at La Maganette Restaurant in Manhattan, and as attendees mingled and the dinner came to order, many of the stories being swapped underscored a deep concern for the industry's future. The evening's award recipients, however, are doing their best to keep business thriving.
