Linfox will challenge the position of Pacific National in Victoria with the support of Queensland Rail. Pacific National, a joint venture between Patrick Corporation and Toll Holdings, acquired Victorian freight operator, Freight Australia, in 2004. As such, Pacific National owns the state's rail network and terminals. Linfox needs assistance from a rail operator in order to expand via rail. To this end, Linfox has teamed up with Queensland Rail to tackle Pacific National's dominance in Victoria.
