Crain Communications has named Charles Lauer, corporate vice president and longtime publisher of Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician magazines, to the position of publishing and editorial director, and has promoted Associate Publisher Fawn Lopez to the position of publisher. While Lauer, 74, continues to lead the titles as senior director and adviser, Lopez assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the publications.
