Feb. 22--TIMES REALLY MUST BE TOUGH for National Hockey League owners.
When Chicago Blackhawks President Bill Wirtz entered a room at the United Center last week to address reporters about the cancellation of the NHL's season, he toted along a paper bag with a Yankee Candle Co. logo emblazoned on it.
Wirtz proceeded to remove what turned out to be papers from the bag, seemingly to use as reference materials if need be.
The paper bag, not to mention the fact that candles aren't normally associated with the rough-and-tumble game of hockey, seemed incongruous in the setting.
