Article: From the heart: among the most prominent symbols of love is the celebration of Saint Valentine's Day. And, what better way to celebrate the day of lovers than with a heart of fine jewelry.(Trends)

The actual origins of Saint Valentine's Day or even when the heart became the symbol of love associated with this celebration are shrouded in mystery. One legend dates back to an Italian bishop, living in the 3rd century, who secretly married couples against the dictates of the Roman emperor Claudius II. Another involves Valentine, a Christian priest of the same epoch, who was jailed by the Romans for performing miracles. Legend has it that he cured the jailer's daughter of her blindness, and left a message for her, before his beheading on February 14, which was signed "From your Valentine".
