Other companies make similar points when discussing their strategies, as well they should: 40% of India's exports of jewelry and diamonds go to the American market. With an export total of nearly $14 billion last year (final figures were not available at press time), comprising one-fifth of India's entire export income, the United States is clearly an important market.
