Article: Air Force's No. 2 Military Space Official Resigns.(Maj. Gen. Robert Dickman)(Brief Article)

Retired Maj. Gen. Robert Dickman, the Air Force's deputy for military space, yesterday announced his departure from the service where he oversaw a beleaguered military space procurement program.

Dickman's last day on the job will be Feb. 13; he joined the service in March 2002. He will take a position at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics as executive director, according to an AIAA announcement. Dickman helped to spearhead implementation of many of the organizational changes proposed in 2001 by the Space Commission, which was led by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld prior to his nomination as defense secretary.
