Feb. 23--WATERLOO -- A proposed salvage yard on Airline Highway has overcome strong opposition from neighboring property owners, including one of the city's largest employers.
Members of the Waterloo Board of Adjustment voted unanimously Monday to approve a special permit allowing John Deery to construct an automobile salvage business on 20 acres of land along the north side of Airline, west of Burton Avenue and east of the Airline Amusement Park golf and go-cart business.
