After a year of struggling to gain consumer recognition for its compact disc-inter-active (CD-I) technology, Netherlands-based Philips Electronics is taking several steps to pick up sales and put CD-I on the road to success. With the addition of full-motion video (FMV) capability and the promise of a big marketing blitz, Philips is banking on CD-I's second year as the one to put the new medium on the consumer electronics map.
