NEW YORK-Unlike the bath towel business, where retail prices are heading south, retail prices for decorative pillows have remained fairly constant -- even heading up.

"It is not under pressure," said Loren Sweet, chief executive officer of Brentwood Originals. In some cases, average retail prices have gone up, not down.

One reason for maintaining price levels can be explained by fashion, as retailers try to keep up with what is new in the apparel and accessories world.
