Smaller office buildings enjoy increasing popularity
San Gabriel Valley's office and industrial markets improved during the third quarter, as the combination of leasing activity and lack of new construction began to reduce the supply of empty space there.
"Leasing activity has definitely picked up," said Jim Center, a senior marketing consultant with the San Gabriel Valley office of Grubb & Ellis Co.
"During the first half of this year we had more inventory coming on the market, and demand seemed to fall off too. Now it's starting to come back," Center said.
Center said preliminary third-quarter statistics indicate "pretty good absorption." ...
