A frequent concern to parents is the child sick with a sore throat. What causes this? Where does it come from? Do I need to take my child to the doctor? What do we do about this? Who else is going to get it? Is it serious? So many questions! Let's see if we can provide some answers.
First of all, "sore throat" is just a general term for pain in the area between the lips and the base of the neck. Many problems cause this area to be sore. I will try to cover the more common problems seen by doctors.
