Lenten roses, hellebore hybrids, were rare collectors' plants a decade ago, but now the Perennial Plant Association has declared them the "Perennial of the Year" for 2005. Their rise in popularity has much to do with propagation methods that make them easier to grow commercially, but has everything to do with their vigor and beauty of form and color.
