Real estate: Newer buildings luring some tenants away
Rents for commercial office space continued to drop in 1992 as buildings struggled to retain tenants and boost occupancy levels, according to figures compiled for the San Diego Business Journal's list of largest office buildings.
Although 19 percent of San Diego County offices are empty, according to recent numbers from Turi Commercial Services, there has been renewed activity by corporations looking to upgrade their offices or move to a different part of town, industry sources say.
