TUCSON -- It never really mattered whether Clint Barmes was in the minor-league spring training or the Colorado Rockies major-league camp. Every year, he would show up, looking forward to playing shortstop and quickly be advised to make sure he gets in his work at second base and third base, too.
Until this year.
"For me, it was whatever it takes, I'll do," Barmes said. "I wanted to play shortstop, but more than that I wanted to get to the big leagues."
Mission accomplished - twice over.
