General Motors Corp. does a lot of things in a big way.
And using landfill gas to help power its operations is one of them.
The world's largest automaker is adding another site to its landfill-gas-to-energy portfolio by tapping methane created by Oklahoma City's Southeastern OKC landfill, which is owned by Allied Waste Industries Inc.
The landfill gas is piped to General Motors' Oklahoma City assembly plant, where a modified steam boiler burns landfill gas instead of natural gas, the company said.
