A California court commissioner has indicated he will formally sign a preliminary injunction within the next week against the willed body program at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

The injunction means UCLA will not be able to accept donated bodies for medical research until the investigation into claims that body parts were illegally sold for profit has concluded. (Transplant News, March 29, 2004)

The preliminary injunction would remain in place until a settlement or verdict is reached on a lawsuit filed in behalf of the families of individuals who donated the bodies of loved ones to the university's willed body program.
