The University of Southern California, Los Angeles (UCLA) suspended its Willed Body Program on March 9 following allegations two employees had engaged in selling body parts from cadavers that had been donated to its school of medicine.
UCLA officials accused Ernest Nelson, a university employee, of acting as the middleman by buying the body parts from Henry Reid, director of the willed body program and then selling them to a number of large medical research companies.
Reid was arrested on March 6th on suspicion of grand theft and released after posting a $20,000 bond. Nelson was arrested on March 7 for the receipt of stolen property. He was released ...
