Campaign? What campaign?
In Des Plaines, there is just one contest on April 5. That's in the 1st Ward, where political novice Peter Tatera is challenging incumbent Ald. Patricia Beauvais.
After talking to previous reporters, I've learned this is unusual in the suburban version of the Windy City.
When contacted about his bid this week, Tatera mentioned he felt he should step up to challenge one of the four incumbent aldermen up for re-election this spring.
He called the lack of challenges "a shame."
