Article: MSG lobby fights bad aroma.(Australian Glutamate Information Service's information on monosodium glutamate)(Brief Article)

Mar 06, 2005 (The West Australian - ABIX via COMTEX)

The Australian Glutamate Information Service (AGIS) has launched a campaign to restore the reputation of monosodium glutamate (MSG). The AGIS says the food additive has been unfairly blamed for causing reactions such as headaches and asthma attacks. MSG occurs naturally in some foods, which means no food company can legitimately claim that a product is "MSG free". Mihoka Townsley of the AGIS says MSG is quite safe when it is not overused.
