The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales released its property data for the September quarter of 2004. The data was released at a briefing in Sydney on 1 December 2004. Bill Evans, of Westpac Bank, said that house prices had fallen by 3.85 per cent over the quarter. The number of property investors was not expected to rise, while most home buyers in 2005 would be owner-occupiers and first-home buyers. Residential vacancy rates had fallen. Retail, office and industrial property markets were still strong.
