Article: Teaching students bystander intervention could reduce campus sexual assaults.(Research)

Helping college students learn how they as bystanders can intervene in sexual assault helps them better understand the situations in which sexual assault might occur and could reduce the incidences of assault on campus, researchers at the University of New Hampshire found.

Using Department of Justice grants, researchers Victoria Banyard, Mary Moynihan and Elizabeth Plante looked at the effectiveness of a program that teaches students how to effectively intervene in situations that can lead to assaults.
