Donna Cross is one of a growing breed of accidental landlords - homebuyers who end up letting their properties by chance when they move on.
In less than a year, Donna, 29, was transformed from being a struggling first-time buyer to a landlady earning sufficient rent to convert her mortgage to a buytolet deal.
Donna, a personal assistant, bought her one-bedroom flat in Wood Green, north London, last June. She was soon spending little time there because romance had blossomed with Howard Levy, a mortgage broker from Savills Private Finance, who helped to arrange her loan.
