One player scoring five points within 30 seconds may not be the rarest of events. But when Jim Moran did it Saturday night, it completely changed the complexion of the game in a 64-41 Jacobs home win over Fox Valley Conference rival Woodstock.
The win was the 399th of Jacobs coach Jim Hinkle's high school career.
Nearly halfway into the first quarter, Jacobs had managed just two points. But after Moran sank a free throw and converted on a pair of layups, the latter after a Jacobs steal, the Golden Eagles (6-13, 1-2) took their first lead of the game at 7-5. Moran's run sparked the beginning of a ...
