Rob Sherrard, the co-founder of Australian discount airline Virgin Blue, has announced his resignation. The airline's head of strategy, David Huttner, left the company in 2004. Virgin Blue is facing problems on various fronts. There have been two profit downgrades, a $A1.1 billion takeover bid by Patrick Corporation and competition from new rival Jetstar.
